Hannes Pircher

Navigator of Success

Hannes Pircher brings over 20 years of experience as a tax consultant and auditor to Technicon.

He has been an active member of the Group's Supervisory Board for 15 years, where he contributes to strategic and operational decisions on the dynamic development of the Group.

As chairman of the supervisory board, I bear responsibility for the ...

... compliance with all requirements of the articles of association and the law as well as the principles of proper administration, in particular for the appropriateness of the organisational and administrative structure chosen by the group and its functioning.

My duties include the organisation and coordination of the Board and its representation vis-à-vis third parties.

As I am present at every shareholders' meeting and board meeting, I have a seat at the table for all important decisions.

I trust my gut feeling ...

... little. As an auditor, my decisions must be objective and transparent to the outside world. Errors can have significant consequences for all of the Group's stakeholders, which is why it is necessary to rely on established standards and tested procedures when making decisions.

Intuition may be helpful in certain situations, but it is not enough to ensure the necessary precision and reliability that is expected of me as chairman of the supervisory board.

What will change over the next few years ...

... will especially be the way in which we use technology to tackle social challenges such as climate change, social injustice and economic change. Artificial intelligence and the sustainable use of resources will become increasingly important in this context. It is crucial that we invest more in these areas.

If I had the power, I would immediately ...

... renew the political culture. Political structures must be made more open, transparent and representative in order to promote citizen participation and facilitate social change in a timely manner.

The relationship between father and son at Technicon is ...

... exceptionally strong. From the very beginning, father and son have carefully planned the generational change in the company. The balance between continuity and change has been achieved in a way that has made it possible to preserve old strengths and promote innovation and modernisation. In my experience the planned ‘letting go’ of the father combined with the profound trust in the son is unique and strengthens the corporate culture enormously.

The following words mean to me:

Solidarity

A quote from Goethe reads: "One day, fear knocked at the door. Courage got up and opened it, but there was no one outside."

Courage is therefore an active and thoughtful action to face fear and free oneself from it.

Entrepreneurship

A willingness to take risks, a spirit of innovation, determination, resilience, adaptability, sustainability and much more.

Network

There are different types of networks. In the economic sense, these are probably professional connections that bring together entrepreneurs, suppliers and customers outside the usual professional structures.

Networks are particularly important for entrepreneurship as they promote communication and cooperation within the company.

Freedom

The right to actively shape your own life.

Career

The professional career of a person.

Success

The material success of an entrepreneur can be read year after year from the last line of the annual accounts. But there are other successes besides economic success.

Success is generally only ever the tip of the iceberg which is visible and shining in the sun. The mostly invisible path to success is characterised by efforts, challenges, failures, sacrifices and the willingness to achieve above-average results.
